We had so much fun 2 weeks ago at Montpelier High School, with our club sprint races, that we thought we would do it again. Come give it a try! Everyone races three times over a course just shy of 1 Km. Mount Solon (aka, the baseball field pitcher's mound) is the high point on this extremely flat course.
Race registration will begin at 6:00 with the race starting at 6:30.
Saturday (2/6) we will have an intro to skating clinic at 10:00 AM at Morse Farm. This hour-long clinic will be gear towards those folks that are already comfortable with skiing, but want to try skating or have just started skating and looking for some pointers. Rentals are available at either Morse Farm or Onion River Sports. Please be ready to ski by 10 to make the most of the session. The clinic is FREE to ORN members or $15 (at which time, you will be a member - HA!). We hope to have these every Saturday through February. Volunteer coaches are always welcome!
Thursday Night, the Montpelier High School ski team will be hosting a race night. 6:00 at the high school. It will be a sprint format with heats. Register by 5:30, racing by 6. You can expect to race their 1 km loop three to four times, depending on how many folks show up. Come give racing a try or dust out the cob webs from the glory days. Either way, it's a great workout and fun.

Event Details: Upgrade your winter gear today with gently used Nordic, backcountry, telemark, alpine touring and snowshoe gear! All age ranges will be represented this weekend as locals have been generous enough to put their gear for all age ranges up for sale to support this fundraising event for VTCX.
9am - Noon: We need your help to get the Morse Farm trails ready for winter!
Volunteer Day Sunday November 1st from 9-noon. Lunch and Creemes provided for volunteers. Please bring hand tools, hand saws, loppers, shovels, hammers, chordless drills, maybe even leaf blowers. We have 2 bridges to rebuild, bridge #3 on Maple and the foot bridge or the drip as some may know it.
On Thursday evening, we will be holding a Sprint Night at Montpelier High. This will mark our third for the season, with light turn outs we have been running team relays - it would be great to get a larger turn out to be able to run heats. Registration starts at 6:00 with racing at 6:30. Count it as a warm up for next week's inter club challenge, which will be Wednesday at MHS.
March 18: Stowe Nordic costume race followed by end of season party (more details to come): signup at 4:00, race at 4:30
