Hey folks – I am just getting back from a weekend race trip to Waterville Maine. It’s so great to come home to a half foot of fresh snow!
With the ground not being frozen – and pretty wet at that – we have to be very methodical on how to establish the base so as not to screw up the trail. Our first task is to roll the snow (not groom) to pack it. That way, the trail and underlying ground will freeze up over the next couple nights.
MHS is currently rolled and should set up well overnight. Tomorrow, I expect it will be sound enough to groom for skating.
Trails with longer turf (North Street, Morses Meadow etc) will take longer to freeze up and may not yet Have enough snow to groom. Hence, our next target will be the golf course.
Stay tuned skiers!
